Peggy created
PEGDRUMS Music
as a way to address certain deficiencies she saw in three main areas: in-school music performances, study materials for private lessons, and real-life equipment issues.
Even though she has been involved for years with in-school performances, Peggy never liked the lack of a specific goal of those performances. The groups performing always seemed to be just thrown together, even if they were made up of extremely good professional musicians. The lack of a performance "lesson plan" seemed to waste a golden opportunity to both teach kids about what the groups were actually doing musically and maybe even inspire them!
In addition, for many years Peggy also heard from her private students about what they had to deal with in terms of band equipment. Broken stands, non-functional drumsets, missing nuts & bolts, etc., make the life of a student drummer very difficult. Most music teachers, even though they've had percussion training in college, don't really understand how it all fits together, especially regarding drum set.
Peggy also noticed a lack of good play-along material for the beginning drummer; most of the play-along material available is either too hard or only focuses on a single style of music. She is currently working on a play-along book to address this need.
The final focus of PEGDRUMS Music is to provide some real-life drum products that she herself has used over the years to make life as a gigging drummer much easier.
